Rosemary & Thyme Natural Candle
Our Rosemary & Thyme natural candles are lovingly handmade in small batches using a soya wax from a sustainable source and the only the finest essential oils. You will enjoy an approximate burn time of 50 hours from our 200g large votive, whilst our 60g classic votive has an approximate burn time of 12 hours.
Rosemary oil has a crisp, clean and refreshing herbal aroma. The essential oil is naturally stimulating, reviving and invigorating.
Thyme has inspired different poets, from Virgil to Kipling, who wrote about "thyme that smells like the dawn of paradise". For the Greeks, thyme meant graceful elegance, and "to smell like thyme" was a stylish compliment. The essential oil has a spicy smell, and antiseptic qualities.
Grown in gardens since ancient times, rosemary was considered to have powers of protection against evil spirits and was the emblem of fidelity for lovers. It is said that rosemary grows well in the kitchen gardens of households where the woman reigns supreme. Thyme is mentioned in the Capitularies of Charlemagne, and according to the 17th century herbalist, Nicholas Culpeper, thyme is 'a noble strengthener of the lungs'.
